Back when phones were useful...

all the baths are at the same temperature and the film stays in there equally ? E.G. Dev1 38c/ 1 minute- wash 38c 1 minute -2dev 38c 1 min... etc?

So, glossed over the fact that you still have to manually wash the film in some other tank or device, then Photoflo rinse manually to avoid water spots, and hang to dry. So, half automatic; half manual. Is there someone so lazy that this would seem reasonable?

Hi Lucas. watching this video in 2023 from Canada. I have also watched your other videos for Filmomat. But, I have special interest for this continuous type super 8 film developing machine. I like to know, why you did not proceed further for such a nice machine. Is there any technical difficulties you found later ? or any quality issue? Here we are almost four years later, and you can buy one of these machines on line. I think the machine to extremely well featured to the point of luxury,l but it suffers a couple of issues which mean that it will not grace my darkroom. (1) The price: depending on currency conversion rates from the Euro and the accessories added, the delivered cost is going to be in the range of $4,000 - $5,000. That's a bit much once the glitz wears off. More functional machines doing the same jobs and more were sold for years in the US for a bit more than half the price. Admittedly, the last of these makers closed up shop last year and such is no more, leaving a supply and demand issue. (2) The peculiar limit on the number of baths (3 chemicals). This is fine (I guess) if you want to limit your color processing to the amateur targeted 3-bath kits commonly sold. However, if you use the full process versions, i.e., the 6 bath E-6 process, this machine is useless. That is unreasonable at the price. And, given the electronic microprocessor controls, the only design consideration would have been three more chemical chambers and simple programing changes. Too bad.

Mega! you upgraded to cylindrical chemical tanks and added a motor to agitate (instead of the bubble system you used previously). Alter!, you even upgraded from the "Rewe" bucket to a yellow mellow average Eimer. Now that is a real Film Nerd MVP. Greetings from Frankfurt Am Mainhattan.

I purchased this app on Android for $.99 and have been using it with old medium format folding cameras. Best dollar I ever spent! I'm so much more confident about exposure times that I'm going to try color slide film now. Is the Photoplug still available? no results on ebay. thanks for such a useful and clever app!

Hallo, ich bin gerade dabei ein Ähnliches Projekt zu bauen für meine Ausbildung. Ich würde gerne eine Ähnliche Tasterauswahlmethode verbauen nur fehlt mir der richtige Ansatz, dass es so läuft wie bei ihnen. könnten sie mir eventuell weiter helfen?

Es fehlt ein Stoppbad Tank. 🙈🙈🙈😂😂😂😂 Das würde den Prozess nochmal sicherer machen... Ansonsten wäre es günstiger als ein Jobo CPE-3 oder CPP-3 wäre der Filmomat ein richtiger Renner und mit zusätzlichem 4. Chemietank wohl nahezu perfekt. Nur für Papierentwicklung wohl zu klein. Eine größere Version wäre genial, aber wahrscheinlich wirtschaftlich in der Kosten-Nutzenrechnung schwierig.

I just started making my own similar film processing machine, how well do you find your heating element works to heat such a large volume for when you do color development ? I think I'm either going to have to induce mixing or make a heating element that is distributed throughout the tank. How did you approach the temperature control aspect of you design ?

Never mind. I had the plastic case on and the plug wasn't pushed-in all the way, so it works now. Doh!
